Recommended Pubs
Although there are hundreds of bars and pubs situated in westport and the surrounding area from little charming rural bars to late night discos, there seems to be only one bar that cannot be missed. The one and only Matt Molloy's captures every heart that is lured there by the intimate traditional music which tickles your ears as you pass by. Established in 1896 Matt Molloy's has an unbeatable Traditional Irish Atmosphere and the best of Irish Traditional Music with flutes, tin whistles, Accordions, fiddles, guitars, mandolins and bodhrans being played seven nights a week. Matt Molloy himself can be seen joining in on the craic and may even play along, when not on tour with the Cheiftans.
Upcoming gigs and general information can be found on the matt molloy website; www.mattmolloy.com
